BakeryCalculators was built to solve the everyday mathematical challenges of baking. From recipe scaling and baker's percentages to cake planning and ingredient calculations, our tools eliminate guesswork and repetitive calculations—so you can focus on what you do best: baking.
Every great bake starts long before the oven is switched on. Behind every perfect loaf, cake, pastry, and dessert are carefully balanced formulas, precise measurements, thoughtful planning, and accurate calculations.
At BakeryCalculators, we believe bakers should spend less time doing repetitive math and more time doing what they love—creating incredible baked goods.
That's why we've built a growing collection of professional baking calculators, planners, estimators, charts, and conversion tools designed to solve the everyday mathematical challenges bakers face.
Whether you're scaling recipes, calculating baker's percentages, planning a wedding cake, estimating ingredient quantities, or managing bakery production, we're here to make the numbers simple.
BakeryCalculators was founded by James M., whose journey into baking started while studying Mathematics and Business at the University of East London. To support his studies, he worked part-time at Rockstar Bakers in London.
It didn't take long to notice a recurring problem. Every day, bakers were solving the same calculations over and over again—scaling recipes, adjusting hydration, converting pan sizes, calculating yields, estimating ingredient costs, planning cake servings, and working with baker's percentages.
Most of these calculations lived on scraps of paper, notebooks, laminated cards, handwritten formulas, or memory. When those notes disappeared, the work often had to start all over again.
While working in the bakery, James began developing his own formulas, verifying traditional baking calculations, and creating practical mathematical shortcuts for everyday production. Over time, those handwritten notes grew into a personal collection of bakery references that made daily work faster and more consistent.
Eventually, one question became impossible to ignore: Why aren't these tools available in one place for every baker?
That question became BakeryCalculators.
Today, those notebook calculations have evolved into a permanent online resource—bringing together classic baking formulas, industry-standard calculations, and practical empirical models into easy-to-use digital tools that help bakers work smarter every day.
Not every baking problem has a simple textbook formula. Some calculations—such as baker's percentages, hydration, recipe scaling, and unit conversions—are based on established mathematical principles.
Others, including cake serving planners, decorating estimators, dowel planning, icing coverage, and production planning, combine mathematics with practical bakery experience and validated empirical data.
Every calculator is carefully researched, developed, tested, and refined before being published, with accuracy, simplicity, and real-world usefulness as our priorities.
Our growing library includes calculators and planning tools across every stage of baking:
New tools are added regularly as we continue expanding the collection.
BakeryCalculators is built for anyone who wants to bake with greater confidence and precision:
